TOKYO, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Thursday condemned the terror attacks in Tehran a day earlier and sent a message of condolences to Iran's President Hassan Rouhani.
As well as expressing his condolences, the Japanese leader expressed solidarity with the Iranian people on behalf of the Japanese government and the people of Japan.
Abe said he strongly condemned the attacks and described them as a despicable act of terrorism against the people of Iran.
He also said he felt deeply sorry for the Iranian people during this difficult time.
Suicide bombers and gunmen attacked the Iranian parliament and Ayatollah Khomeini's mausoleum in Tehran on Wednesday, killing at least 13 people and wounded 43 others, according to Iran's Interior Ministry.
