BERLIN, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Sebastien Buemi clinched his sixth win of the season after capitalizing on a penalty for Felix Rosenqvist in the second race of Berlin' s ePrix at the Tempelhof Circuit on Sunday.

The Renault e.Dams driver extended his lead in the championships race although Mahindra Racing's Rosenqvist finished first. The Swede was penalized for a pit stop error though, allowing Buemi to snatch the win.

Rosenqvist started from the pole and was able to defend the lead until the end of 46-lap race. However, Rosenqvist wasn't able to reap his second straight win in Berlin's double-header as he picked up a 10-second penalty.

The Swedish driver received the penalty for an unsafe release during the mid-race pit stops as both Mahindra drivers narrowly avoided contact.

Rosenqvist worked out a 2.9 second advantage but the penalty moved him to the second place. Championship leader Buemi grabbed the top spot while title rival and ABT Schaeffler Audi driver Lucas di Grassi finished on the third place.

With the result, Buemi extends his lead atop the driver standings to 157 points, followed by Di Grassi with 125 points and Rosenqvist with 86 points.

The 9th race of the FIA Formula E season will be held in New York City on July 15.
