Xi stresses reform, development, stability ahead of CPC national congress

TAIYUAN, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged Party committees at all levels to advance reform and development, and ensure stability to create a favorable environment for the upcoming 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Xi, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks during a tour in northern China's Shanxi Province. He reiterated that the congress is a significant event for the Party and the nation's political life.
