VIENTIANE, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), China has achieved great success in politics, economics and diplomacy while its role on the global stage has become increasingly prominent and serves as an example for developing countries, said a Lao party official.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Xinhua in the Lao capital of Vientiane recently, Sounthone Xayachak, head of the External Relations Commission of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, said that for nearly a century, the CPC has paid attention to summarize and learn from experience in theoretical and practical aspects, conduct tradition-based innovation, and maintained its vitality to continue to grow and develop.
Since its establishment, the CPC has led the Chinese people in the fight for national independence and has achieved a glorious victory. After the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, the CPC has led the Chinese people to build an increasingly powerful socialist country and move solidly forward, said the official.
The CPC's wise leadership has led to stable politics, rapid and sustainable economic development, improved living standards, as well as extensive development of diplomatic activities of the country. The position, function and strength of the CPC and China have become increasingly prominent in both regional and world arenas, she told Xinhua.
Sounthone has paid many visits to China, and during each visit she has learnt valuable experiences from China in leading people in the struggle for national independence and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics, she said.
The CPC has a wealth of experience in governance, Sounthone said, emphasizing that she was impressed by the ability of the CPC in managing the socialist market economy, building a socialist democracy, building an advanced socialist culture and a harmonious society, as well as dealing with a myriad of international situations.
In addition, the CPC undertakes eliminating bad elements from within the party and anti-corruption endeavors as prioritized tasks, showing the determination of the CPC in building a healthy party, she told Xinhua.
The Lao party, government and people express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the CPC, the Chinese government and the people of China for their valuable assistance in the struggle for the national independence of Laos and the process of building socialism here, she said, expressing her belief that Laos and China can continue to maintain mutually beneficial relations and make greater contributions to regional and world peace.
