MADRID, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Three people were injured on Friday in the first running of the bulls during this year's San Fermin festival in Pamplona, Spain.
The three runners, two Americans and a Spaniard, were gored by bulls from the Cebada Gago ranch during the run.
The Spanish man, 46, suffered serious injuries to his head and leg, while the wounds of the two Americans, aged 35 and 29, were relatively minor, medical officials said.
The nine-day San Fermin festival, which kicked off on Thursday, has attracted visitors from across the world.
This year's celebrations are being guarded by 3,500 police with special measures being taken to reduce the risk of a terror attack.
