NEW DELHI, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Navies of India, the United States, and Japan will participate in the 10-day Malabar exercise beginning Friday, India's official broadcaster All India Radio said.
During the exercise, naval ships, aircrafts and personnel from three countries will feature both ashore and at-sea training.
In the exercise from July 7-17, India's aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya, supercarrier Nimitz of the United States and Japan's warship JS Izumo will be participating.
The exercise is one of the biggest conducted in the Indian ocean region.
The annual Malabar series began in 1992 between India and the United States. However in 2015 Japan was invited to be part of the military exercise.
