WASHINGTON, July 10 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday pressured Congress to move forward with healthcare reform.

"I cannot imagine that Congress would dare to leave Washington without a beautiful new HealthCare bill fully approved and ready to go!" Trump tweeted early Monday morning.

The tweet came as Senate Republicans struggle to garner enough votes for its replacement for the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Senate Republicans rolled out a bill in June that they hoped would replace the ACA, a major campaign promise of Trump.

The bill was opposed by a number of Republican Senators, forcing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to call off a vote late June.

The bill is now undergoing revision in order to gain broader consensus among Republicans.

Congress is set to go into a month-long recess on July 31, adding to anxiety in the White House that a stalled bid on healthcare reform may erode its support.
