LUSAKA, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Zambia's year-on-year inflation for the month of July slowed down by 0.2 percentage points, its statistics agency reported Thursday.
Measured by the all items Consumer Price Index (CPI), the year-on-year inflation has declined to 6.6 percent in July compared to 6.8 percent in June, according to the Central Statistical Office (CSO).
The decrease in inflation rate was mainly due to price changes for food and non-food items, the CSO said in its monthly release.
The month-on-month inflation rate for July was recorded at -0.1 percent compared to 0.6 percent recorded in June, showing a decrease of 0.7 percentage points, the CSO added.
