JAKARTA, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Anti-terror squad of Indonesian national police has captured 3 alleged terrorists, who had assembled bombs and recruited militants to fight in the Philippines, a senior police officer disclosed here on Friday.
The people, two men with initials of S of 38 years and R of 39 years, and a woman with an initial of RB of 45 years, were arrested in Kasang Kumpeh village of Muara Jambi district in Jambi province on Thursday, spokesman of national police Senior Commissioner Martinus Sitompul said.
"They had facilitated those wishing to go to the Philippines and had made bombs," he said at the national police headquarters.
In addition to persuading people to join radical groups along with the other two arrested, SP was also allegedly involved in raising funds to finance the journey of militants to the Philippines, said Sitompul.
The three suspects were under intensive investigation by police, he added.
Indonesia has stepped up monitoring of the movement of militants in the country, particularly those who have been back home from joining IS activities in Syria.
The country has witnessed a spate of suicide attacks in recent years, involving militants linked with Islamic State and leaving dozens of casualties.
