MOSCOW, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin offered his condolences on Saturday to his Egyptian counterpart Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi over a deadly train collision.
"Putin conveyed words of sympathy to the friends and families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the crash," said a Kremlin statement.
On Friday, an Alexandria-bound train coming from Cairo crashed into the rear of another train on its way from Port Said to Alexandria, killing 49 people and injuring more than 100 others.
