UAE rulers perform Eid al-Adha prayers in Abu Dhabi, Dubai

DUBAI, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- United Arab Emirates (UAE) Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum on Friday performed prayers of the Muslim Eid al-Adha festival in Dubai, state news agency WAM reported.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid and his entourage prayed on Friday morning at the Zabeel mosque in Dubai, the report said.

Also on Friday, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan performed Eid al-Adha prayers in Abu Dhabi at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, according to the report.

The Muslim Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of Sacrifice, follows the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and is performed worldwide by approximately 1.7 billion Muslims.
