FUZHOU, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- East China's Fujian Province has activated emergency responses as Typhoon Talim is likely to hit China's southeastern coast Thursday or Friday.
Talim, this year's 18th typhoon, is moving rapidly northwest, bringing gales to coastal areas and fisheries in Fujian on Tuesday.
Even stronger gales have been forecast in a wider area in Fujian on Wednesday and Thursday, accompanied by heavy rainfall.
Government departments have been ordered to take measures and be on the alert for secondary disasters.
