HAVANA, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Cuban authorities announced on Wednesday that the 20th International Habano Cigar Festival will be held from February 26 to March 2 in 2018.
This festival will maintain traditional activities such as the Welcome Night, the tours to the best tobacco plantations and cigar factories, a trade fair, and the Habano sommelier international competition, among others.
According to the organizers, this edition will be particularly interesting for participants as it will test the capability of the Cuban tobacco sector to recover after the impact of Hurricane Irma, which devastated the country 10 days ago.
The annual International Habano Cigar Festival is the most important meeting of that industry in the Caribbean nation and usually brings together over a thousand cigar-lovers from more than 70 nations.
The festival is considered among the world's largest international gathering of fine cigars lovers, only surpassed by the Big Smoke in Las Vegas, United States.
