BANGKOK, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- A Jetstar Airways plane with more than 180 people on board was forced to make an emergency landing at northern Thailand's Chiang Mai International Airport on Monday, according to National Broadcasting Services of Thailand.
The airport received an emergency report about 11:30 a.m. local time, and then the plane landed safely with no injuries or damages reported.
Official news said there was smoke rising from the luggage compartment of the plane, leading to the landing.
Local media said the aircraft continued its journey after a full inspection.
The plane from the low cost airline was heading for India from Vietnam's Noi Bai International Airport.
