DHAKA, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- A lecture on traditional Chinese Medicine was held at Bangladesh's top leading Dhaka University on Monday.

This is the first time the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) was introduced to the students of Dhaka University formally.

Fu Yanling and Lu Zhong, two Chinese professors, and Zhang Lin, a Chinese doctor, who just flew here from China to attend the talk, among others, delivered speeches in the program.

They said TCM is a style of traditional medicine built on a foundation of more than 2,500 years of Chinese medical practice that includes various forms of herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage, exercise and dietary therapy.

They informed the audience that TCM is still widely used in China and is becoming increasingly available in Asia and else where in the world.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture of China in collaboration with the Chinese embassy in Dhaka and the China Arts and Entertainment Group.

Apart from Dhaka University students, teachers from various departments of the university also took part in the discussion and exchanged views for further promotion of TCM in the country.
