ISLAMABAD, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- At least one policeman was killed and two others were injured in a firing incident in Pakistan's southwest Quetta city on Friday morning, local Urdu media reported.

The incident happened when some unknown gunmen sprayed bullets at a police vehicle and fled the scene, Dunya News said.

The attack took place in Faqirabad area of Quetta, the capital city of the country's southwestern Balochistan Province.

The firing left two policemen and a bystander teenager boy injured, all three of them were shifted to hospital where one of the cops succumbed to injures.

Police cordoned off the attack site and kicked off a search operation.

The attack happened a few hours after the police killed a hardcore militant and arrested his accomplice during an armed clash in the city.

No group or person has claimed the firing incident, but such attacks are often attributed to Taliban militants or separatist groups in the province.
