TOKYO, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Wednesday morning as investor sentiment was brightened by some robust corporate earnings here for the fiscal first-half released recently.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 313.03 points, or 1.42 percent, from Tuesday to 22,324.64.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 17.91 points, or 1.01 percent, to 1,783.87.
Oil and coal product, mining, and pulp and paper-linked issues comprised those that advanced the most by the morning break.
