BEIJING, Nov.10 (Xinhuanet) -- "China is making an enormous progress in innovation agenda. We are proud to be part of that," said Ian Jacobs, President and Vice-chancellor of University of New South Wales, Australia (UNSW).

In a recent interview with Xinhuanet, Jacobs said Australia is actively participating in innovation programs of China.

In terms of high technology innovation, the UNSW and Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Torch Innovation Precinct in 2016, he said.

Jacobs added that thanks to the joint efforts, China and Australia could have a wonderful success in education partnership.

And this kind of partnership could be an example for other education partnerships all around the world, he believed.

There are a variety of ways of educational partnership, including government to government research, universities to business programs, and universities links, he said.

It is wonderful to have so many Chinese students in UNSW, he said, these students will generate cooperation opportunities for Australia and China, and further UNSW cooperation with more Chinese educational institutions, he concluded.
