BEIJING, Nov. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- The Eighth Xiangyang Zhuge Liang Cultural Tourism Festival opened on Thursday in the Xiangyang city, central China's Hubei Province.
A grand art show in typical local style was performed at the opening ceremony.
Zhuge Liang (181-234), a politician around 1,800 years ago, is known for his strategic thinking and diligence.
Luminous “Xiangyang elements”, such as the Kongming latern, Xiangyang rice wine and Xipi folk singing rendered the show even more lovely and colorful.
More than 130 artists took part in this six-part show and presented the audience a visual feast. The show brought the audiences back to the good sweet days of the ancient glorious city.
Other cultural and folk activities will also be held during the festival, said the organizers.
The festival will run until Nov. 18.
