AMMAN, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Jordan stressed Monday the role of media in fighting the propaganda of terrorist groups, state-run Petra news agency reported.
Jordan's Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani made the remarks at a meeting with a defense delegation from the Unite Arab Emirates (UAE).
The minister said Jordan would continue its war against terrorism, adding that his country had adopted a comprehensive strategy focusing on the military and security aspect.
He also stressed the need to focus on the ideological and media aspects in the war against terrorism.
More efforts should be made in activating the role of media while facing the terrorists' propaganda, said Momani, adding that it was vital to stand up against terror groups which are actively using social media to spread their dark ideologies.
He said that Jordan created a unit for monitoring media content published by terror groups, and that Jordan would continue to make an effort at all fronts to fight terrorism.
He called for more coordination among the countries in the Middle East to ensure an effective battle against the radical groups.
