ATHENS, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- A 41-year-old father and his two children, aged 8 and 10, died of suffocation after a fire broke out in their apartment in a central Athens district on Saturday, the local fire brigade said.
The three were found unconscious in the basement apartment by fire brigade officers who were alerted by neighbors.
The incident is being investigated. According to Greek national news agency AMNA, a note was found in the apartment. It seemed to have been written by the man, who was divorced.
"I can't take it anymore. What is life worth?" the note said, according to the AMNA report.
