SKOPJE, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- The European Union (EU) expects all Macedonian political parties to show commitment and willingness to cooperate on implementation of country's reforms, EU Ambassador to Skopje Samuel Zbogar told reporters Monday.

Speaking to the press, Zbogar said the implementation of reforms was crucial to the advancement of Macedonia's EU bid.

"We as EU want to see commitment not only from the government for continuation of the reforms but also from the parliament and the political parties," Zbogar said after the meeting with Maksim Dimitrievski, mayor of Kumanovo (northern Macedonia).

The EU ambassador noted that if the institutions continued to deliver results, there would be a positive effect on relations between EU and the country next year.

"In this context, we see cooperation between the government and the opposition, and we, as the European Union, encourage this process and we hope that this kind of cooperation ... will continue in the future and will yield results," Zbogar said.
