Putin orders withdrawal of Russian troops from Syria

MOSCOW, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin gave the order Monday to begin the withdrawal of Russian troops from Syria to their permanent bases during a surprise visit to the Hmeymim airfield in Syria, the Kremlin said in a statement.
