ISLAMABAD, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- At least four people were killed and one other injured when a three-storey building collapsed in Pakistan's east Lahore city on Saturday, local media reported.

The killed people included a couple and their two kids who were living in the collapsed building for years.

The incident happened in the downtown Delhi Gate area of Lahore, the capital city of the country's east Punjab Province.

Police said that the decades-old building was in a dilapidated condition, and the family was sleeping at the ground floor when it razed to ground.

The injured boy, who was the youngest kid of the couple, was pulled out from the debris by rescue teams, and is said to be in stable condition.

Authorities have repeatedly warned people living in dilapidated buildings to vacate them to avoid any untoward situation, but many families still live there, as low rents of such worn-out buildings make them affordable for poor families.

Earlier in October last year, an old two-storey building collapsed in Lahore, killing a woman and injuring three others.
