Roadside bomb kills 1, wounds another in Afghan eastern Gardez city

GARDEZ, Afghanistan, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- At least one people has been confirmed dead and another injured as a roadside bomb struck a vehicle in Gardez city, the capital of Afghan eastern Paktia province on Saturday, police spokesman for the province Sardar Wali said.

"One civilian lost his life and another injured after the car they were travelling in ran over a mine on a road in Gardez city," Wali told reporters here.

Without giving more details, the official said that investigation is underway.
