RIO DE JANEIRO, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Changchun Yatai's Brazilian striker Marinho said he was more motivated than ever to score goals and win titles after a disappointing debut season in China.

The 27-year-old netted just three times in 17 matches in 2017 as Changchun Yatai finished seventh in the Chinese Super League standings.

"I'm working as hard as I can in this pre-season to have a perfect season for Changchun Yatai," Marinho was quoted as saying by Brazilian news service Lance.

"I hope that this year is better than last. I'm going to give my life to make sure that happens."

Marinho attracted the attention of a host of clubs by scoring 21 goals in 43 matches for Brazil's Vitoria in 2016, helping the side avoid relegation to Serie B.

He is confident of recapturing that form in 2018 as Changchun Yatai target a top four league finish.

"Our goal is to play with a lot of intensity. We are going to fight to do as well as we can and we are motivated," Marinho said. "The players are dedicating themselves to training hard in the pre-season to make it possible."
