BEIJING, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Domestic film "Forever Young" has raked in 467 million yuan (73 million U.S. dollars) at the box office since its debut on Jan. 12, another well-received art film following the high-grossing "Youth" launched at the end of 2017.

"Forever Young" tells the stories of four generations of Tsinghua University students pursuing their love and dreams.

"This film moves viewers to tears with its characters and sincerity," said Yin Hong, professor of the School of Journalism and Communication of Tsinghua University. "The best part of it is the reflection of human dignity and sense of value."

For Chen Peng, professor of the Department of Communication of Nankai University, the film is similar to "Youth," which unveils the growth and destiny of young military artists from around the 1970s.

"The exquisite depiction of the history and plots of both movies bring youth, dreams and hardships of each specific historical period to life, making the films strongly appealing to the audience," Chen said.

"Youth" debuted on Dec. 15, 2017, and is the eighth highest-grossing film in the Chinese market in 2017, taking 1.4 billion yuan so far.
