ALGIERS, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- Algeria on Wednesday condemned the terrorist attack that targeted civilians in the city of Benghazi, eastern Libya, killing over 30 people, APS news agency reported.

Some 33 people were killed in a twin car bomb attacks in Libya's eastern city of Benghazi, local media reported late on Tuesday.

"Algeria strongly condemns the bloody terrorist attack that targeted civilians in the neighborhood of Salmani in the city of Benghazi, eastern Libya, as dozens of innocent people were killed and wounded," said Abdelaziz Ben Ali Cherif, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry.

"We express our full solidarity with the government and the people of Libya and extend to the families of the victims our condolences and compassion," he added.

He also reaffirmed the need to support the process of inclusive dialogue to achieve national reconciliation in this neighboring country.

Algeria is convinced that the fight against terrorism and the barbaric acts requires the support of all parties in favor of the inclusive national dialogue and peace process in a bid to achieve national reconciliation," the diplomat stressed. Enditem
