Hong Kong stocks close 1.53 pct higher

HONG KONG, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong stocks closed up 499.67 points or 1.53 percent to 33,154.12 points on Friday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 32,794.13 and 32,836.28. Turnover totaled 179.95 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 23.02 billion U.S. dollars).
