CBA roundup: Beijing snap Liaoning's four-game CBA winning streak

BEIJING, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Fang Shuo scored a game-high 23 points to lead five players scoring double digits as Beijing beat powerhouse Liaoning 96-87 in the 31st round action of the 2017-2018 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Friday.

Beijing launched a 6-0 run at the very beginning of the match after Fang Shuo hit a three-pointer. Duan Jiangpeng helped Beijing expand the lead to 12 points but the visiting team cut it to 3 at the end of the first quarter.

From the second quarter, Beijing strengthened its attack and enlarged the advantage to double digits again. Although Liaoning fought back in the third quarter to narrow the gap to 6 points, the visiting team still couldn't turn the table.

Fang Shuo of Beijing finished with a game-high 23 points. Justin Hamilton added 20 points and 8 rebounds. Han Dejun of Liaoning contributed only 20 points.

Shanghai beat Zhejiang 103-85 with Fredette's game-high 47 points, helping itself get one step closer to the playoffs.

In other matches played on Friday, Fujian crushed Jilin 133-104 to end their three losses in a row, Shanxi won over Guangzhou 123-117, Shenzhen hammered Aolong 115-93, Guangdong smashed Tianjin 126-86, and Guangsha downed Jiangsu 124-113.
