UK vows stronger ties with North Africa after Brexit

RABAT, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- A visiting British official said on Friday that his country seeks to strengthen ties with North Africa particularly following the imminent exit from the European Union.

Speaking at the press briefing after a meeting with Moroccan Foreign Secretary of State Mounia Boucetta, Alastair Burt, British Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, said his visit to Morocco, the first of its kind to the region, is aimed at strengthening relations between the two countries in various fields.

The British minister also stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral security cooperation, particularly in the fight against terrorism and the exchange of intelligence and security information, noting that Morocco is an important partner in the region.
