ACCRA, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- The European Union (EU) and Ghana entered into four financing agreements here on Tuesday for a total grant package of 175 million Euros to support Ghana's development activities over a seven-year period.

EU Ambassador to Ghana William Hanna, who signed for the EU, said 102 million Euros out of the package under the European Development Fund was designed to support Ghana's Productive Investment in Infrastructure for Agriculture Development in the Savannah Ecological zone.

The other portions of the grant will cover support for Public Financial Management; Decentralization in Ghana Program, and Resilience against Climate Change.

Signing for Ghana, Minister for Finance Ken Ofori Atta welcomed the commitment made by the EU.

"Your support could not have come at a better time. As you are aware, agriculture, public financial management, decentralization and climate change are priority areas for the government of Ghana in terms of job creation, service delivery and better financial management," the finance minister said.
