MADRID, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- The Spanish Football League (LaLiga) on Friday presented its Business School at an event at the league headquarters in Madrid attended by LaLiga President, Javier Tebas and School Director Jose Moya.

LaLiga Business school is a joint initiative with the University Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid and the Garrigues Study Center aimed at training future professionals in the field of sports management.

Speaking to Xinhua, Mr. Moya explained the LaLiga Business School had "grown out of LaLiga's ideology."

"At LaLiga we believe we have a commitment to professionalize the sports industry. We want to capture and educate the people who will be the future of the industry," he said.

The School opens its doors in October 2018 with the courses involving both theoretical and practical work and taught by people such as Ramon Rodgiguez 'Monchi' who is currently the Sporting Director of AS Roma, former Real Madrid and Malaga defender, Fernando Sanz and Pedro Malabia, who is responsible for Women's Football with FIFA,

The courses aim to attract from "young people who have just finished university, to professionals who want to widen their knowledge with our professors," according to Mr. Moya, who added that LaLiga is already looking to expand the initiative with agreements "with universities in China and India.

"The more value the industry of sports/entertainment has, then the better for all of us and what better than to have people trained with our values throughout the world and working in the industry," he concluded.
