Zhejiang still has chance to enter playoffs after ending its losing streak

BEIJING, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Zhejiang keep the chance alive of qualifying for the playoffs with Wu Qian's unbelievable performance, beating Sichuan with 118-93 and ending four-game losing streak in the 37th round of the 2017-2018 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Friday.

Wu Qian and Sonny Weems helped Zhejiang take the double-digit lead in the first quarter of the duel. Sichuan's Hamed Haddadi helped the hosts cut the gap by his aggressive attack however the opponents can still hold more than ten points' advantage. Contributing 42 points and five assists, Wu managed to put down the come-back desire of Sichuan at the fourth quarter.

There is only one round of the regular season and the last one ticket to playoffs. After the victory Zhejiang took a slight lead in the race over Shanghai.

Guangsha, who has already sealed the first place of the regular season, extended its eleven-game winning streak after beating Aolong with 120-111. Thanks to Courtney Fortson's game-high 32 points, Guangsha took a 21-point lead at the opening of the fourth quarter and sealed the victory easily. Aolong's veteran Stephon Marbury only scored two points in his 20 minutes' court time.

In other matches played on Friday, Guangzhou edged Liaoning 120-114, Shandong won over Qingdao 135-118, Guangdong hammered Jilin 93-67, Tianjin cruised past Tongxi 123-109, Xinjiang beat Fujian 132-124, Bayi lost to Beijing 106-111.
