CAIRO, March 7 (Xinhua) -- The Arab League's Summit meeting that was supposed to be held later this month in Saudi Arabia was delayed to April, a Saudi official said Wednesday.

Minister of State for African Countries Affairs Ahmad Qattan told reporters in Cairo that there are Arab discussions to set a date for the 20th Arab Summit Meeting to be held in Riyadh.

He made the remarks at the conclusion of the 149th round of the Arab League Council at the level of Arab foreign ministers which kicked off Wednesday.

Qattan noted that the summit was to be held at the end of March, "but it was delayed because this date coincides with the Egyptian presidential elections."
