AMMAN, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Pan Weifang pledged on Wednesday that China will continue its support to the Middle East kingdom.

Pan made the remarks during his visit to King Hussein Bin Talal University in Maan Governorate, about 200 km south of the capital Amman, where he inaugurated the Chinese Movie Week in Jordan.

Noting that China is the second largest trading partner of Jordan, the ambassador said China's exports to the kingdom reached about 3 billion U.S. dollars in 2017.

He said China is working on several infrastructure projects in Jordan in the fields of water, transport, railway, energy and roads.

"China will also continue to provide humanitarian support to Jordan," he added.

In the field of education and culture, China provides 100-200 scholarships to Jordanian students annually, Pan noted.

Saleh al Sharari, the acting president of the university, expressed his appreciation of China's scholarships provided to Jordanian students, saying this helps promote people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

Five Chinese movies, namely Song of the Phoenix, American Dreams in China, Say Yes, Lost on Journey and The Great Hypnosis Master, will be on show to Jordanian university students in the next five days.
