ABUJA, March 12 (Xinhua) -- The World Health Organization (WHO) on Monday said at least 3.1 million people in Nigeria's northeast cannot access healthcare due to Boko Haram's violence in the region.

In a report released in the northeastern city of Maiduguri, the WHO said 755 health facilities were destroyed following armed attacks by the Boko Haram terror group in the three most frequently attacked northern states of Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe.

A total of 6.9 million people are targeted for humanitarian assistance in Nigeria's northeast region, the United Nations said in July 2017.
