SINGAPORE, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 0.4 percent or 14.32 points to close at 3,539.41.
A total of 1.89 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.23 billion Singapore dollars (about 940 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 231 to 182.
The STI index closed up 0.38 percent or 13.54 points to close at 3,553.73 Tuesday. Enditem
