HONG KONG, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong stocks closed down 166.440 points, or 0.53 percent, to 31,435.012 points on Wednesday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 31,141.85 and 31,453.479. Turnover totaled 103.20 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 13.16 billion U.S. dollars).
