JALALABAD, Afghanistan, March 19 (Xinhua) -- At least three people were killed and eight others injured as a motorbike bomb rocked Jalalabad city, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province on Monday, spokesman for provincial government Attaullah Khogiani said.
According to the official, the terrorists planted explosive device into the cavities of a motorbike and detonated it in the first precinct of Jalalabad city at around 01:15 p.m. local time, killing three people on the spot and injuring eight others. All of the them were civilians.
The blast took place in Jalalabad city while a political gathering with the participation of hundreds of supporters of Gulbudin Hekmatyar, leader of his own faction Islamic party the Hizb-e-Islami, was going on.
