Iran's Rouhani congratulates Putin on election as Russian president

TEHRAN, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Monday congratulated Russian incumbent President Vladimir Putin on his re-election as the president of the Russia.

He expressed hope that cooperation between the two countries would further develop in his term in office.

Rouhani said that the Islamic republic is determined to strengthen comprehensive cooperation with Russia.

Putin was elected president for the fourth time in a landslide victory on Sunday.
