Qatar condemns terror attack in Afghanistan's Kabul

DOHA, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Qatar has condemned the terrorist attack that took place in the Afghan capital Kabul, Qatar news agency (QNA) reported on Thursday.

In a statement, Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the country's firm stance on the rejection of violence and terrorism regardless of motives and reasons.

Qatar also expressed its condolences to the families of victims, the government and the people of Afghanistan, wishing the injured speedy recovery, the statement added.

On Wednesday, a suicide bomber detonated his explosives while walking among a group of people near Kabul University and Ali Abad hospital, killing at least 33 people and injuring 65 others.

Later, the Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for the attack.

Since the beginning of 2018, Afghanistan has been witnessing a series of attacks which launched by the IS and the Taliban, killing and wounding dozens of victims.
