GAZA, March 22 (Xinhua) -- The man behind the failed assassination of Palestinian prime minister last week was arrested in Gaza on Thursday, sources in Hamas-run interior ministry told Xinhua, adding two policemen were killed during the operation.
A shootout broke out with the suspect who was hiding in a house in the central Gaza Strip refugee camp of al-Nussairat, added the source on condition of anonymity.
Late on Wednesday, the Hamas interior ministry identified the suspect, adding that its security services had launched a search operation to nab him.
