PARIS, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta will miss the French League Cup final against Monaco late in March after suffering a three-game suspension, French professional football league (LFP) announced on Thursday night.

In a Ligue 1 game against Angers on March 14, Motta was shown a red card by match referee who thought that the Italian midfielder intentionally stamped on Angers defender Romain Thomas in fighting for ball possession.

Motta, 35, already missed last weekend's league game against Nice for automatic one-game suspension, and the followed-up three-match suspension denied his chance of playing in the French League Cup final in Bordeaux on March 31.

The injury-prone Italian will have his current contract with the club expired at the end of the season.

As for last Sunday's post-game clashes between Marseille and Lyon in Ligue 1, LFP disciplinary commission convened two clubs and implicated players, Marcelo and Anthony Lopes of Lyon and Adil Rami of Marseille, for a meeting on April 12.
