HANOI, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said here on Saturday that China will further deepen its reform and opening-up in the new era.

Wang said on the sidelines of the sixth summit of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Economic Cooperation that the best way for China to commemorate the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up is to follow through on the commitment.

The Chinese official said the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which was held in October last year, drew up the blueprint for China's future development, ushering the world's second largest economy onto a new journey toward a modern socialist country.

"China is now in a new era of development and at a new historical starting point," said the Chinese state councilor.

He said China will adopt policies for high-standard trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, create a more fair and free business environment, and significantly broaden market access.

"This November, we will host in Shanghai the first International Import Expo, offering a big market to all countries, " said Wang.

"You are welcome to participate in the expo and seize this opportunity."
