BEIJING, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Yoo Jun Su smashed in a late equalizer as Buriram United held Guangzhou Evergrande at 1-1 in Group G of the AFC Champions League here on Tuesday.

Evergrande's winger Zheng Long made the most use of his rare start to break the deadlock in the 20th minute as his attempt on the edge of the box took a huge deflection off Buriram United's defender to go beyond a helpless goalkeeper Siwarak.

The away side almost doubled the lead at 41 minutes as Ricardo Goulart ran rings around Praweenwat and fired to smack the woodwork while Zheng Long's curler whistled just wide of the near post.

Evergrande's defender Feng Xiaoting squandered a good chance in the 80th minute as his attempt in a close range was denied by Siwarak, while at the other end Yoo Jun Su also stung Zeng Cheng's gloves after he shook off Zhang Linpeng's defense.

Goulart should've sealed the match when he was sent clear by Zhang Wenzhao, but his shot from close range was surprisingly cleared off the line by the defender with Siwarak well beaten.

The hosts finally punished Guangzhou Evergrande deep into the stoppages when Edgar Silva nodded a long pass for Diogo, who squared for Yoo Jun Su to hit a volley.

Another Chinese Super League side, Shanghai Greenland Shenhua, were eliminated in Group H after they fumbled a two-goal cushion and played out a 2-2 thriller on their home pitch against Kashima Antlers.

Shenhua surged into a 2-0 lead in the first half, with a pair of strikes from Giovanni Moreno and Mao Jianqing, but the Kashima Antlers got back to level 5 minutes into the second-half to knock out Shenhua.
