YANGLING, China, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Kenyan runners grabbed the top honor both in men's and women's races in the 4th Yangling International Marathon in China's Shaanxi province on Sunday.

Among the 20,000 runners, one tenth of them challenged themselves in full marathon.

Jonathan Korir from Kenya clocked in 2:16:27 to win the men's race, beating compatriots Wilfred Kigen and Kipkelwon Kangogo to second and third in 2:16:57 and 2:17:33 respectively.

"It's a little bit cold at the beginning but I got rid of it. Then the weather became very suitable for the race and I end up with the first place," said Korir.

The women's crown went to Kenyan Emmah Kiruki in 2:33:59. Her compatriots Marueen Kiprono and Monica Kanyata placed second and third in 2:34:12 and 2:47:55 respectively.
