Spanish shares rise to highest level since February

MADRID, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Spanish stocks enjoyed another positive day of trading on Wednesday when the benchmark Ibex-35 index rose 0.54 percent.

The Ibex opened trading on 9,803.90 points and ended the session on 9,857.30 points, its highest level since February, on what was generally a positive day of trading all over Europe.

The best performing companies were supermarket chain, Dia, which saw share values rise by 4.99 percent, followed by steel producers Arcelormittal and Acerinox, whose share prices rose by 4.14 percent and 3.58 percent respectively.

The day's worst results were suffered by Viscofan, with a 1.67 decrease in worth, followed by pharmaceutical firm Grifols, whose shares fell by 1.66 percent and energy firm Red Electrica with a 1.29 fall in share prices. Enditem
