KUWAIT CITY, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait and Ukraine have started implementing a mutual e-visa system to be issued online or upon arrival at the airport, the Kuwait News Agency said Wednesday.
The initiative is based on a reciprocal basis, Waleed Al-Khubaizi, Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs of Kuwait said, against the backdrop of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
He cited Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko's recent visit to Kuwait, which resulted in a number deals signed, including the aforementioned e-visa system.
He spoke highly of his country's ties with the eastern European nation, saying that tremendous progress has been made in recent years.
Petro Poroshenko payed a state visit to Kuwait on March 18-19.
