TEHRAN, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Iran's education minister suggested to use Russian as the second language in the educational curriculum, Tehran Times daily reported on Saturday.
The plan aims at ending the use of English as the second language in the Iranian schools, Mohammad Bat'haei was quoted as saying.
Bat'haei has posed the idea in a recent meeting with the Russian Education and Science Minister Olga Vasilieva in Moscow.
A work group will be established to prepare a memorandum of understanding in this regard, he said.
According to the report, Nikonov has welcomed the idea, calling for developing plans to teach Farsi in Russian schools along other languages.
